Malvern Collegiate, an 111-year-old high school in the Upper Beach, is doing its part to honour those from the school who served in the Second World War, which Canada officially entered 75 years ago on Sept. 10, 1939, declaring war on Germany.

Toronto police are still looking for suspects involved in vandalism of a First World War cenotaph at Malvern Collegiate Institute.
Malvern’s boys baseball team has won the Toronto District Secondary Schools Athletic Association championship for 2014, defeating Richview Saints 12-2 in the final at Talbot Park Monday.
The game was a rematch of last year’s final, won by Richview.
The victory was especially sweet for the graduating seniors who have worked for this day for several years.
Congrats to everyone.
The latest issue of the Musings has been mailed out and is available here.
In this issue Donna Halliday writes a tribute to the late Eddie Caterer: “Eddie Caterer passed away suddenly on Jan. 30, 2014. The service was at Calvary Baptist Church on Main Street, Toronto. It was a wonderful tribute to Eddie, and the church was packed with family, friends, Malvernites, and Balmy Beach Club (B.B.C.) members.
