- AGM and Future Plans
The 2016 AGM will be held at the school on Saturday 5 November.
Vandra introduced a document from alumnus John Leahey who has produced a proposal to raise funds to repair and secure the cenotaph. It was noted that this would be an excellent 150th anniversary project. Vandra estimates that the cost would be approximately $20,000. While everyone present supports the proposal in principle, it was decided that all communications about the project would have to be vetted by the existing cenotaph committee. Vandra will invite the OMF to a meeting to jointly discuss the proposal.
Rod circulated a proposal to explore the possibility and the ramifications of merging the MRBS and the OMF as a response to our lack of ability to recruit new members to the MRBS executive and troubling financial situation. His proposal laid out the benefits to both groups, and he has committed to inviting the OMF President, Lorie McCauley, to a meeting to explore the possibility. Approval to proceed was moved by David, seconded by Volker, and passed unanimously.
- Any Other Business
There was no other business.
- Motion to adjourn
Moved by Adele, seconded by Rod.
