Krys-Tyna Collins

The MRBS is sorry to report the passing of 1970s alumna Krys-Tyna Collins (nèe Ciezkowska) at age 68 on February 9, 2025 in Hamilton, Ontario.

Krys-Tyna grew up on Lyall Avenue, enjoying summers at the family cottage on Buckhorn Lake. She was passionate about her family, her pets, her garden, music, politics and the environment and in recent years had also taken up Dragonboat racing.

Krys-Tyna is loved and missed by her daughter Samantha Collins, her partner Peter Phipps and his sons Colin and Ryan, her sister, 1960s Malvernite Wanda Gregory, and by all of her furry friends. She was predeceased by her husband Russell Collins in 1997.

Our deepest sympathy to Krys-Tyna’s family and friends. As per Krys-Tyna’s wishes, no funeral was held.
