  1. Minutes of June 2 meeting

Acceptance of Minutes with minor correction moved by Adele, seconded by Bob. Accepted.

  1. Matters arising from the Minutes

Volker noted that the volunteer who is helping maintain the flower beds around the school is doing an excellent job.

  1. Announcements

There were no announcements.

  1. President’s Report – Vandra Masemann

Vandra noted that she had composed a letter of thanks to go to all donors. She felt that the gap between our receipt of funds and the sending of tax receipts is too long and that we should send thanks as soon as possible. Some minor changes were made to the draft.

  1. Vice President’s Report and plans for Musings – Adele Ashby

Adele noted that work on the fall 15 Musings had begun.

  1. Communications Reports –

Vandra Masemann – mail

Vandra reported that we had received 4 more donations since our last meeting.

Bob Watson – email, phone

Bob reported that there had been no phone calls or emails from the 40s since our last meeting. There was an inquiry about yearbooks from the 60s and 8 communications from the Red & Black account, 6 web registrations, 1 about a yearbook, and 1 about school rings.

Dianne Chadwick – database

In Dianne’s absence, Vandra reported that the database was being worked on.

David Fuller – website, Facebook

In David’s absence, there was no report.

  1. Treasurer’s Report – Bob Watson

Bob reported that there were no outstanding demands on our funds and that we would have sufficient funds to take up to the end of the calendar year but not beyond.

  1. Wrap-up on Sequester Project and Report on ReLeaf Day – Rod Tennyson

Rod reported that the ReLeaf |Day had been reasonable successful, especially given that we had had to shut down early as a result of inclement weather. We made $700, cleared $500 after expenses, and donated $300 to the Environment’s Club’s activities for the coming year.

  1. Malvern Military Tattoo Planning – Rod Tennyson

Rod provided an overview of the upcoming Malvern Military Tattoo, which will include 3 military bands, the Malvern Band and Choir, and outlined his plans for the accompanying narration. He reported that Tim Dacuik has agreed to set up a process whereby tickets can be purchased online.

  1. Ways to support Malvern – continuing discussion and planning

The discussion included the soliciting of advertising for a page in the upcoming Musings, which would also include quotes from letters received that provide positive feedback on MRBS projects and activities.
