Remembrance Day 2014 at Malvern


Dear Members of the Community and Media,

On Tuesday, Nov. 11, Malvern Collegiate Institute will be hosting a special Remembrance Day presentation and we invite you and your organization to attend.

This year is the 100th anniversary of the start of WWI and many Malvern students made the ultimate sacrifice in this conflict. Malvern hosts a national Cenotaph in honour of them and our local community history society will be presenting on their sacrifices. In addition, we will be paying tribute to those in the armed forces who have recently made the ultimate sacrifice as well.

Following the presentation, there will be an informal community lunch-in as well as a “moment of silence” to mark the 11th hour. Guests and media are asked to RSVP in advance of attending using the contact information below. The schedule for the day is as follows:

Arrival time for Guests:              9:45 (please report to the Main Office for sign-in)

Presentation:                                   10:00 – 11:00 (in the Auditorium)

Moment of Silence:                       11:00 – 11:01am (school wide)

Lunch-in for Guests:                     11:02 – Noon (in the Staff Room)
